Dow-Key Microwave joined about 20 other exhibitors, each with a table-top display of their company’s products, at this four hour expo. During this four hour span of time, between 200 to 600 persons attended, all of which were very influential individuals: including engineers and important decision makers. Participation in this expo not only allowed Dow-Key Microwave to reach significant individuals, but also gave them the opportunity to enhance the company’s brand name, and increase their image, as well as, their visibility. In addition to presenting a showcase of switch products to potential buyers, Dow-Key also received valuable feedback from customers. In summary, participation in an expo such as this one is very beneficial as it presents the opportunity for exposure to an audience that is highly targeted, but typically difficult to reach.

Orlando, Florida (September 13-16, 2010) – Last month, Dow-Key Microwave participated in the Autotestcon Show, held in Orlando, Florida, from September 13th through 16th. The theme of this year’s conference reflected upon not only the fact that 2010 is Autotestcon’s forty-fifth year, but also that their technical program focuses on the future of automatic test. Dow-Key Microwave joined over 100 other exhibiting organizations and United States Military divisions in providing over 250 exhibition booths. Dow-Key Switches

By participating in this show, Dow-Key Microwave’s attendees, Adolf Cheung, Larry Neeley, Greg Marinez and Sara Nazemzadeh, were able to meet senior military and aerospace leaders, as well as intermingle with other professionals in the industry, including weapon systems managers, acquisition officials, engineers and logisticians.Dow-Key Microwave held its exhibition at booth number 836, which turned out to be a great location since it was in a high traffic area.
Dow-Key’s products on display included the solid state 3202 matrix, the electromechanical 4104 matrix, the fiber optics matrix, PXI modules, and many coaxial and waveguide switches that are great for test setups, as well as ATE applications. The fiber optics matrix, which is one of the latest additions to Dow-Key’s product line, really captured a high level of interest. Participation in the show also provided a great opportunity to reveal the company’s new Space Brochure for the first time.
During the three day exhibition, Dow-Key Microwave also took part in the “Tech Trek” competition which was sponsored by Evaluation Engineering. In this competition, visitors of Dow-Key’s booth had the chance to win an iPod, iPad, or various other electronics through multiple daily drawings. This competition was a fun event that gave Dow-Key Microwave the opportunity to meet and interact with may great engineers and leaders within the RF industry.
The outcome of the show was truly great, because it was very well attended, and Dow-Key was able to capture many high quality leads. Due to this great turn out, Dow-Key Microwave plans to participate in the next Autotestcon show, which will be held next year in Baltimore.

RF Switches for ATE Applications

Dow-Key’s new product catalog offers wide range of RF switches for use in test applications. For smaller test setups with few I/O paths the 1-million and 5-million cycle switches with 0.03 dB repeatability up to 4 GHz are a popular choice, in addition to, miniature sized and pin-mount PCB switches. In larger test setups where many I/O paths are under test, compact solution such as PXI modules is recommended, specially our 12K3S-series where each module can be populated with up to three RF switches and with any combination of dual SPDT, DPDT, SP3T, SP4T, and SP6T switches. Another popular choice is our extensive matrix portfolio that offers many different I/O matrix combinations for ATE applications. They all are offered with both local control and with pair of remote interfaces: GPIB/RS-232 or Ethernet/RS-232. Dow-Key matrices are well suited for any test application where RF signals are routed between various DUTs and test equipments. To learn more about switches for ATE applications, contact Dow-Key.

Paris, France (September 28-30, 2010) – This past month, Dow-Key Microwave, along with several sister companies such as K&L Microwave, DLI, and Vectron – all part of Dover Ceramic Microwave Product Group (CMP) – shared a large booth in the European Microwave Week Exhibition. The show was held this year in the wonderful city of Paris, France, between the dates of September 28th and 30th. This was the 40th annual European Microwave conference, which is the largest event in Europe focused on microwave electronics. The show is dedicated to Microwave exhibition with technical seminars, and it truly presents a wonderful opportunity to explore both current, as well as, future trends in the world of microwave, millimeter- and submillimeter-wave systems.

Dow-Key Microwave (DKM) was located at booth number 44, which they shared with one of their sister companies, Vectron International. Also this year, Dow-Key Microwave’s representative, Equipements Scientifiqueso, had a large booth (#133) at which Dow-Key Microwave and Vectron held displays as well.
During the exhibition, Dow-Key Microwave took the opportunity to conduct a rep-training seminar, which covered both new and legacy products. Vice President of Engineering, Krzysztof Ciezarek, gave the presentation, preceded by an introduction from both Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Adolf Cheung, and Dow-Key Microwave’s product champion in Europe, Gary Shipton. The timing of the exhibition was perfect, as this is the best part of the year to be in Paris. Overall, the outcome of the show was a great success, as it was very busy and allowed Dow-Key Microwave to gain a large amount of exposure in the European Market.

Dow-Key Notes From IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium 2010

The MTT-S International Microwave Symposium was held in Anaheim, California, during May 23-28.

It is an IEEE sponsored show annually held at different locations across US and allows a premier international conference for technologists involved in all aspects of microwave theory and practice to meet. The show heavily focuses on RF switch technology (and among many other RF applications) and is our most important trade show every year.

Together with our sister companies in Ceramic & Microwave Products (CMP), we have attended this show over several years and this year, as it was on our home base (80 miles south from our factory in Ventura, California), many of Dow-Key’s Sales and Engineering team members were able to attend the conference sessions and walked the show, in addition to networking with other companies.

We had a very successful week, where we met with many of our customers and conducted business on the spot. As the show is well attended with our representatives across US and internationally, we networked with many of them and other familiar faces within the RF & Microwave industries. This show provides a great atmosphere, for not only us but for everyone, to do business and mingle with similar minded people. And the results are always rewarding.

We presented many of our hot item products such as our commercial coaxial switches and lightweight waveguide switches to be used for testing applications, antenna signal switching, or for many other signal routing applications. We also displayed our ruggedized switches (SPDT, Transfer, and Waveguide) for space and military application where switches need to operate in severe environment. Furthermore, we show cased our SPDT miniature pin mount switch that goes up to 3 GHz and can be soldered to a PCB for RF switching applications.

Among our extensive matrix portfolio, we presented our larger matrix system that allows multiple inputs to be switched to multiple outputs – our popular solid state L-band 12×12 matrix. And our smallest and very popular 1 RU matrix populated with same or different switches (4104 model) was also show cased. In addition, we brought our PXI module solution that is for testing multiple RF signals at ease to the show. All these solutions can be found in our new product catalog and downloaded from our website.

The 2011 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium will be held in Baltimore, Maryland, in June and record high attendance is expected. We will be there together with our CMP group – once again with booths side-by-side to present a broad range of RF & Microwave products to current and prospect customers.  We look forward to seeing you in Baltimore.
